OK - this is not really me and Jim.....but just give us a few more years. haha

This really is Jim at Sliding Rock - he made many trips into the icy cold water at Sliding Rock.

Jim and I had a great vacation in Aug 2008....Sightseeing in the Smoky Mountains, beautiful mtns and waterfalls, shopping in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, a couple of days on the beach, attending the Bristol Nascar Races, and more sightseeing, shopping and eating. We even went to the Dixie Stampede! We also tried indoor skydiving, go-cart racing, and slid down a huge flat rock into freezing water at Sliding Rock. What a wonderful trip and special time together. Thank you Jim!

Grandson Ethan and PaPee Jim are best buddies. Ethan is already into extreme sports.....anything that has a loud motor. Notice his elbow guards and helmet. He is ready for anything!

>>>>>>>>>Dustin's still got it!!! Climbing trees is his outdoor specialty.
>>>>>>>>My azealeas are in full bloom - pink, white and red varieties.

Of course, Jim wanted to take a boat ride too, so Ethan let Jim get into his new boat.

Ethan took Amber for a boat ride in our pool yesterday! Like his Mommy, Daddy and Grands, he is definitely a water lover.

"I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee, won't my mommy be so proud of me."
Ethan took us Trick or Treating last night. He was a Baby Bumble Bee and Amber his Mommy Bee. They were precious, except Mommy Bee's leggings kept sliding down to her ankles! HaHa! We got the giggles and Randy thought we were crazy! We have neighbors who decorate more this time of year than at Christmas so it was quite a sight to see! Jim and I gave out candy until 7:30pm when he realized Diancing with the Stars was on...and I can't miss Mario dancing so we shut off all the lights and hid in the back of the house with our TV.

Jim and I went to Pensacola Beach on Thurs. for 3 nights with the owner of the company. I did not know him, but before the trip was over, we discovered we had gone to Garland Elementary at the same time. He was in 3rd grad when I was in 1st. His name is Larry Reynolds. Ann, do you rememeber that name? He moved away 2 years before we did.

Anyway, we had a great trip, visited the Naval Air Museum and piloted the simulated Top Gun fighter jets. The wind and rain were brutal, butfinally on Saturday the Sun came out and we went sightseeing to Destin and the outlet mall. Our fishing trip was cancelled due to high waves again. I guess it just isn't meant to be. Our last 3 trips to the gulf have been grounded due to storm and waves. Oh well, we still loved the getaway and getting to know Jim's boss and his girlfriend Kelly.

My Grandson Ethan

Has anyone ever seen a more beautiful and tranquil sunset? The pond and sunset are literally in their backyard, so Ethan, Amber and Randy get to enjoy this scene almost every day. Last night I strolled with Ethan while Amber went to her ladies class meeting. This sunset was awesome for me because I saw it through the eyes of Ethan. Thank you Lord for our grandson Ethan, he has touched our hearts in such a wonderful way!

JUST-A-SWANGING!

Ethan loves to swing with PaPa and Kay Kay on our front porch. It calms him when he gets tired and sometimes rocks him into a slumber. It calms Jim too, now that I think about it. Grandchildren are wonderful!

Biloxi Trip - Before Katrina

Dustin and Ethan are great Buddies! Ethan is a lucky little fellow to have Uncle Dustin as his entertainer, Uncle and friend.

Dustin is back at Fayetteville for his last semester. We miss him! Jim and I went to Fayetteville on Tues morning and stayed the night. We ate out with him for 3 meals and then on Wed after lunch, I bought Dustin a new comforter, sheets and lamp and set it all up - He crawled under the covers and told us it was time for his nap! So after several hugs and goodbyes, we took the hint and headed home. As Jim drove home, I snoozed like a contented baby.

Jim bathed, fed and put Ethan to bed!

Jim gave Ethan his bath tonight at Amber's house, then gave him his night feeding before putting him to bed. He has been a very hands on PaPa, just as he was a hands on Daddy! Amber loves to watch us play with Ethan and we love to play with Ethan. He has two sets of doting grands. Randy's parents kept him last night while they went to a movie. Jim and Ronnie (Randy's Dad) spend part of every conversation bragging on what they did with Ethan recently. It get's very competitve sharing one little grandson!

The Day Before my Last Day of Work

Friday is my last day before I go on leave from work! I am so ready to be a housewife for a little while. I know that I will need to start looking for another job soon because of health insurance, but that's OK. I plan to go by and spend with Mother at the NH each day and make sure she is well cared for.

Tonight after work, we watched Ethan crawl for the first time! He warms my heart every time I see him. It stirs those memories of when Amber and Dustin were babies. I kept him all day on Sat. while Amber took their SS class to the lake. He did great and I loved every minute of it.
